The majority of the house is built off-grade or above ground with cinder block overlaid with insulated vinyl siding with interior plaster walls. It stays warm in winter and cool in summer even though there is no fiber insulation behind the interior walls. The home has jalousie windows, however, storm windows were installed over the original windows to prevent wind damage during storms and to prevent cool air …or heat from escaping the house. The attic is insulated with at least R-19 insulation that was blown in along with some newly installed duct work that was completed in 2003. Heating and Air is provided by an electrical unit located in the attic and an electric compressor unit located behind the house. This unit was installed in 2003. All exterior doors are hardwood but contain no insulation foam within the doors. The hot water heater operates on gas in the laundry room located off the family room. This same laundry room has an electric receptacle for a washing machine and a gas hook up for a dryer. The house is supported by a new septic tank system which was installed in 1997 and is located in the northeast quadrant of the property. No vehicles are allowed east of the extended driveway, otherwise the underground line and the septic tank is subject to severe damage. The grounds around the house can be watered by a sprinkler system that operates from an underground well located in the vicinity of the gas meter on the west side of the two car carport. Approximately 1300 sq. ft. of the house is hard wood flooring (i.e., 3 bedrooms, hallway, and living room). The kitchen is vinyl on top of hardwood and the family room is carpeted and padded for durability and warmth on top of a concrete slab. Bedrooms have large closets.
